The ECO-FLO Products PUP62 Water Transfer Drill Pump Kit with a flow rate of 300 gallons per hour can be used for draining large tanks, fish tanks, and water tables. It can also be used to pump salt brine out of an overflowed water softener. However, it is not suitable for pushing water and providing head pressure for an irrigation system. It has a small plastic housing and impeller with only a 1/4" steel shaft and is powered by an electric or cordless drill. The distance between the pump housing and impeller is very narrow, so if the source is at a higher elevation than the hose outlet, the pump will act as a siphon at a reduced flow rate. This product is not suitable for descaling a tankless water heater. Customers who have used this product to drain large tanks or fish tanks have reported that it works well and is much faster than using a bucket. However, some customers have reported leaks in several places due to the cheap plastic casing, which appears to have been overtightened at the factory and cracked. The clear hose works well if there is no debris that can clog it, and the hose diameter should be the same on both sides or use a smaller diameter hose on the "IN" side. It is recommended to use a plugin drill motor to provide better control of the volume of water at the output.
