Will the fabric stretch a bit? Size 5 is a bit tight on my big toe, but 6 is a bit too large.
Answer: No they didn't stretch. We ordered a 10 her normal size is a 9. Buts she hads a wide foot. It fit great -

I ordered a size 9 and got an 8 but was labeled 9. What size do I need to order if I need an actual size 9?
Answer: I think you either need a 10 or 11. Remember, these dance shoes are made in China and their sizes are quite different than ours. -

Are these shoes washable? Since they are canvas, I am concerned that they will look dirty quickly.
Answer: They are not washable. Perhaps they can be spot cleaned. -

I typically wear a size 7. What size should I order?
Answer: I wear a size 7 shoe but purchased a size 8 and a size 9 because of the suggestion to go at least one size larger since these shoes run small. I found that due to the roundness of the shoe toe, the size 9 was more comfortable on my foot around the big toe area. The ties allow for a good fit to tighten the shoe. -

Are these unisex or could they be worn by men? Is there anything that makes them specifically women's?
Answer: They are definitely unisex and are actually advertised that way on most sites. Sansha size is about 3.5-4 sizes smaller than US mens sizes, and about .5-1.5 smaller than US womens. (I.e., US womens 8.5-9 = Sanshas 10 = US mens 5.5-6.)
