It is best used to measure the pH, temperature, and electrical conductivity of all types of growing media, including hydroponics and coco coir. The pH Pen has a long lifespan and can last over four years with proper maintenance, such as keeping the pH bulb moist and storing it in pH storage solution. It is also essential to calibrate the pen regularly, especially when the check mark doesn't show up, which indicates that it is time to calibrate. Coconut coir growers can use this pH pen as long as the coco is damp. The product, although highly recommended, has its fair share of shortcomings. For one, it is not fully waterproof, which can lead to faults when not handled with utmost care. When a liquid solution goes more than 1/2 above where the probes meet the body, it can cause leaks, leading to damage to the device.
