Is there a limit on how many photos I can back up?
Answer: No, you can back up as many photos as the storage capacity of the USB drive allows. -

Does this item store photos in folders or as a random list? Does this come with the connector for an Android phone (Galaxy 9+)?
Answer: It backs up photos in the same folders as they are on your computer. This version does not connect directly to phones. To back up from phones and tablets, connect the device to a Windows computer and plug the stick in. Run the backup app and it will back up from the phone to the stick. To back up directly from Androids, we have a Photo Backup Stick DC for Android available which includes adapters and an Android app to back up directly from the device without using a computer. -
Question:
How do you hook up to the computer?
Answer: To back up photos from a computer, plug the stick into a USB port and open the backup app. Click the Backup button and it will back up photos. To back up from a phone, plug the phone into the computer and unlock the screen. Plug the stick in and open the backup app and select to back up from the phone. -
Question:
Does it look for duplicate photos but only save 1 if it finds dupes?
Answer: The Photo Backup Stick will not back up the same photo twice, however, it cannot detect duplicates during a backup. So, if you do a backup and take more photos, your next backup will only back up new photos. Most duplicate photos are actually different photos taken right after each other (e.g. burst mode photos) but they are not actual duplicates. There's no way to detect these types of duplicates. -
Question:
Does this product pull photos out of google photo files? an external hard drive? or only from the hard drive on a computer?
Answer: You can change the settings to scan for photos from any drive or folder connected to the computer. It can scan external drives, thumb drives, memory sticks, or any other mass storage device that is connected to the computer. -

Does this work in chromebook?
Answer: This version of the Photo Backup Stick does not work on a Chromebook. We are working on an update to the Photo Backup Stick DC for Android. If your Chromebook supports Android apps and it has OTG (on the go) flash drive support, it will work with the Photo Backup Stick DC for Android soon. -
Question:
It appears that all you have to is plug this into a usb port and it will automatically find and copy photos, videos, etc. is this correct?
Answer: I think it may depend on what windows you have i have windows 7 it asked then it copied photos i added 20 more photos plug stick back in now it copied all photos again so i have every thing doubled and will have to go through 3700 photos to delete its not suppose to do that but it does wouldnt buy or recomend -

Is this compatible with type x android?
Answer: Yes, it is compatible with type X Androids. To back up from phones and tablets, plug the phone or tablet into a Windows computer and then plug the stick into the computer and run the backup app. Choose to back up from the phone/tablet and it will download the photos to the stick. You can also purchase our Photo Backup Stick DC for Android which connects directly to phones instead of using the computer. -

Will the photo backup stick find pictures stored in the cloud?
Answer: I don’t know. I didn’t have any success using this product. -

Do I determine what photos to store, or does it search for all photos, then new photos?
Answer: You have the option to tell the app what folders to look for photos in. This means you can select to only back up the photos you want. When you do new backups, only new photos will be backed up. It won't back up photos it has already backed up before. -
Question:
Does this item search for photos on my computer or iPhone, and then are they stored on the stick until I move them to another place?
Answer: Yes, this will scan your Windows computer or iPhone to back up all photos to the stick itself. The stick is a standard USB drive with the special backup app so you can access the backed up photos and move them to another place just like any other USB drive.
