The beauty of these Triple Shot rings is that they work with any 4-conductor humbucking pickup, yielding three distinct tonalities with various options, including standard humbucking tones, out of phase dual coil pickup tones or split coils, either inside, and outside coils being on. After installation, it is easy to switch wiring configurations without having to remove strings or mess with the other wiring stations on the guitar. However, the rings can be slightly smaller than stock rings, and the holes may not line up, leading to a bummer if money has been spent on a pickup scheme based on them. Moreover, the contacts that are soldered to the 4 conductor humbucker leads can be very small, and there have been reports of connections coming apart twice, which may cause issues for some new users.
