The Lathe Tailstock Die Holder Attachment in 3MT Shank with Multiple Die Sizes is a useful tool to speed up the threading process on barrels. It installs in the tailstock quill, and round dies fit in the appropriate diameter hole. It seems to work well on threads with a diameter of 5/16 or smaller, but a larger handle size and a larger ball would be ideal. The holder handle is sketchy and only tapped about two threads deep. It has the ability to hold four different die sizes, with the small end holding 13/16-inch round die. The product is made in India, and some customers encountered burr problems due to sloppy thread tolerances in all threaded holes or a misaligned indent that makes it difficult to lock the die in place.
