Vosaplk Oboe 148 Soft Editorial Review
The Marlin Lesher Oboe Reed in soft strength has received a mixed reception from customers, primarily highlighting its varying playability and quality. Some users, including those returning to the instrument after a break, have found that the reed feels harder than expected from a "soft" classification, noting that it plays similarly to some medium reeds they have used in the past. This aspect might be challenging for absolute beginners who seek an easy-playing option without additional modifications. Conversely, experienced players have expressed satisfaction with the overall strength and tonal quality of the reeds, often mentioning that they perform well for more skilled oboists. One reviewer specifically points out that it's one of the best reeds they have used, suggesting that the product is reliable for those familiar with adjusting reeds to suit their playing needs. While some customers experienced issues — such as receiving reeds with cracks or finding them unplayable, particularly for beginners — others praised the value and effectiveness of the reed, indicating that it fulfills the requirements of intermediate to advanced players well. Overall, it seems to cater better to seasoned players rather than novices who might struggle with its playability. **
