Answer: You won’t have to match the original frequency, as the motherboard for this product isn’t a special build. It features Intel’s H87 chipset which means that this board can take all kinds of DDR3 NON-ECC memory, but it will most likely clock the memory no higher than 1600. I recommend getting either 2x8GB sticks or 4x4GB sticks so you have the maximum amount of RAM supported, and won’t have to worry about upgrades in the future. In terms of branding, don’t get this product. Get Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 MHz RAM. It will do you very well. -
