The motor is the same as that used on other PoolCandy floats, which have been successfully used in both lakes and pools for the past four years. The float can hold approximately 250lbs and is powered by D-cell batteries, which have an approximate lifespan of 1-2 months. The float is not particularly fast, but it is fun for kids. The only downside is that it doesn't have a cup holder.
