EVGA Graphics Cards 04G-P4-2972-KR Editorial Review
The EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Gaming ACX 2.0 graphics card has garnered a mix of praise and criticism from customers. Users transitioning from older graphics cards have noticed significant performance boosts, especially when playing demanding titles on high settings. The card's whisper-quiet operation stands out, especially when compared to noisy reference designs, allowing for an immersive gaming experience without distracting noise. Performance metrics are generally favorable. Gamers have reported impressive frame rates for widely played titles like Final Fantasy XIV and Dota 2, with some users achieving over 100 FPS in optimal conditions. The included Nvidia Game Stream technology and additional connectors like the DVI to VGA adapter add further value, facilitating streaming capabilities to other devices and ensuring ease of installation. However, the GTX 970 has not been without its issues. Users have expressed frustration regarding driver updates that seem to negatively impact performance, resulting in significant frame drops. Some have experienced stability problems, including occasional lock-ups and unexpected reboots. Compatibility concerns with Windows 10 have also surfaced, leading to a notable decline in performance for specific games. Overall, while the GTX 970 offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio for 1080p gaming and has features that improve user experience, there are notable concerns about stability and ongoing driver support. As such, potential buyers should weigh these factors when Considering the GTX 970 for their gaming needs. **
