It is made of solid wood, does not require a box spring, and can be used as separate twin and full-sized beds. The stairs can be fastened to either side, but unfortunately, the slide cannot be attached to the other side. The upper rail can only be attached to the right side, leaving an open space on the left for the slide. The slide can hold 250lb weight. The bed is sturdy enough for an adult according to one customer's experience. The bed has received mixed reviews. Some customers love the bed and their kids enjoy it while some found it difficult to assemble and had missing parts or defects. The directions and screw holes were problematic for some customers. However, the customer service was praised for providing timely shipping and setup services.
