Format: Blu-ray Comedy Editorial Review
The "Ghostbusters I & II" Blu-ray collection, released for the franchise's 30th anniversary, has garnered a commendable reception from customers, particularly fans of the classic films. Reviewers laud the overall quality of the picture and sound, appreciating the excellent transfer that captures the original film's grainy aesthetic rather than viewing it as a flaw. This perspective emphasizes the importance of film grain as a part of the cinematic experience and the exceptional detail presented in this Blu-ray release, allowing fans to enjoy a version that stays true to the source material. The collection's special features include a wealth of content. Both films come with previously released extras alongside new interviews with director Ivan Reitman and actor Dan Aykroyd, which have piqued the interest of viewers. While some fans have expressed a desire for additional features, including a missing telestrator commentary that was a highlight of the DVD release, the overall offerings have been well received. Packaging has also been highlighted positively, with a hardcover book design that enhances the visual appeal, although some minor issues with the rigidity of disc holders have been noted. Most reviewers agree that receiving both films in one high-definition set at a reasonable price makes this collection a must-have for fans looking to relive classic moments in improved quality. In summary, customers find this Blu-ray edition of "Ghostbusters I & II" to be an exceptional package that enriches the viewing experience while celebrating the beloved franchise. **
