Nutritionist's Take
The '11135-1 - Bariatric Drop Arm Bedside Commode Chair' is a medical device rather than a nutritional product, aimed at improving accessibility and hygiene for individuals with mobility challenges, particularly those who are overweight or obese. While it doesn’t provide direct nutritional benefits, it plays a crucial role in the overall health and well-being of users by promoting independence and dignity in personal care. One potential drawback is that reliance on such devices may deter physical activity, which is vital for a healthy lifestyle. However, when mobility issues occur, this commode can be an essential component of a comprehensive health strategy, allowing individuals to maintain a proper hygiene routine, reducing the risk of related health complications. Nutritionists emphasize that while it is not a food product, proper personal care can positively influence mental health, which is deeply interconnected with physical health.
DRIVE DEVILBISS HEALTHCARE Bedside Commodes 11135-1 Editorial Review
The 11135-1 Bariatric Drop Arm Bedside Commode Chair is a high-quality product designed with drop arms for easy transfer of users. It can support weight up to 1000lbs, perfect for bariatric patients. It has a seat width of 23.25" and a seat depth of 18.5" making it comfortable for large-sized users. The chair is easy to slide on and can fit on tall toilets without using the bucket. It is built to last, sturdy, and easy to adjust in height. Customer feedback indicates that the chair is well-made and comfortable to sit on. However, some users have experienced issues with the right arm dropping on its own, urine dripping back under the handle, and instability when getting on and off. The chair does not come fully assembled, users will have to attach the backrest, adjust the legs and seat. Additionally, the shipping time takes longer than expected.
