Thomastik-Infeld Violin IR100 Editorial Review
The Thomastik-Infeld IR100 Infeld Red Violin Strings Set is renowned for its bright, responsive, and easy-to-get-a-good-sound-out qualities. The G and D strings have visibly thicker strings that make the violin body vibrate, producing a deep, resonant, and mellow sound. The strings break-in quickly and are very responsive and clear. The sound is warm, beautiful and makes it project well. However, the E string is difficult to play with as it produces almost no sound at times, and it tends to whistle. Thus it is best replaced with a Pirastro E-string or an Obligato E-string. Some experienced players shared that these strings with some complexity have a richer tone but do not last for a longer period of time. However, for occasional use, these strings are perfect for ensemble playing.
