- Written over a period of thirty-two years, the İnce Memed quartet is the story of Memed, who rebelled against the order, and Çukurova with its human relations, nature and colors. The novel of a person who, in Yaşar Kemal's words, was born with a wolf of rebellion within him, the forced man.Memed settled in a Mediterranean town with Seyran, whom he married after quitting banditry, where he made friends with teacher Zeki Nejad, one of the heroes of the national struggle. Memed goes to the mountains again by killing Şakir Bey, who had Zeki Nejad killed, who was fighting against the paddy farmers who oppressed the villagers. He also kills MP Arif Saim Bey, who evacuated the villages and deported the villagers to Çukurova to catch him. After this incident, İnce Memed's bookmark team becomes unclear.I think it is enough to read İnce Memed 4, this novel written outside of official history, to understand why the Turkish people changed a quarter-century-old political power in 1950.
